When we got there, the entrance was open, but nobody was inside and the interior doors were locked. We couldn't get hold of anyone, and another couple arrived with the same problem. We booked through Agoda, but it seems this hotel doesn't exist. It felt like a scam. Don't book here.

Don't book there! This looks like a straightforward scam: the hotel doesn't seem to exist, and neither local shopkeepers nor the police station knew anything about it.
