Le Verger du Sausset

The room was fantastic, and breakfast with our host was even better with squirrels playing in the big garden behind the house. The house and garden are magnificent, despite being so close to the center of Beaune. It was a perfect stop, a lovely meeting, and a real pleasure to stay in a bed and breakfast.

The attic room’s air conditioning was very noisy, though it was essential. Also, some Booking.com photos show rooms marked as Gîtes de France that aren’t available online. The room costs €135 on Booking.com and €95 when booked directly, but direct bookings have to be paid in cash at the start of the stay. We hadn’t come across that before, and we’ve always paid at checkout. There was no receipt either. On the positive side, it’s a 15-minute walk to the center, and there’s a pleasant pool, excellent breakfast, a comfortable bed, a very clean room, a kettle, a small fridge, and parking on site.

The owner was especially kind, and the comfort, bedding, breakfast, and beautiful garden all made our stay in this magnificent gîte a pleasure. We’d gladly come back. Thank you, Mr. Pascal!

Pascal and Marianne are absolutely charming, and Pascal is attentive, keen to make sure you’re well, and full of useful advice. The breakfasts are generous and make for a lovely chance to chat with him. Everything was exactly as described, and the service was excellent. We highly recommend it and will certainly return.
