Best Western Le Rolet Du Vigneron

The room was spacious, and I especially liked having a coffee machine in it. They seem to have the weekend logistics for Champagne sorted, with visits to champagne houses and an on-site restaurant. The hotel looked great at first sight. There’s also a “gym,” though it’s just a bunch of cardio machines and doesn’t really feel like a gym. They couldn’t offer us a decent way to iron clothes, and there was no fridge in the room for medicine or a cold drink. “For the environment,” sure. Without those things, it doesn’t feel like a serious hotel to me, so 4 stars.

The breakfast was delicious and the staff very kind. The hotel is well located, and the rooms are a good size and standard. Since it’s spread across several buildings, it can take a while to find check-in. Depending on your room, you may have a separate entrance and need to leave the building to get to breakfast.

Dinner at the hotel restaurant was the highlight, with great food and service. We had a lovely overnight stay, and our room was nice, clean, and comfortable.

The manager apologized on the second day for the staff from the day before, but it was an awful experience. The rooms are new and nicely designed, though the air-conditioning didn’t work properly and was centrally switched off most of the time, especially when it was hot or humid, apparently to save energy. The staff member who greeted us was extremely rude and inexperienced. They wouldn’t let us park next to the hotel to unload our luggage. We ordered champagne, which was spilled all over us, and nobody apologized or seemed to know what to do.
