It’s fascinating to see how this place grew over the years. All that history and construction for a hunting lodge where the original king only got to stay briefly before the furnishings were packed up and taken to the next place.

There are shops close by, and the owner is discreet but quick to respond, even coming over if needed. The studio has what you need, though the kitchen supplies are limited. It works well for a few nights or a week, especially as a base for the region’s best-known castles: Blois, Chambord, Cheverny, Chaumont-sur-Loire, Amboise, and others.

The parking area is a little tight, though there are free spaces nearby. The place itself was clean and well equipped, with good-quality bedding, and the hostess was friendly. Its location worked really well for visiting Cheverny, Chambord, and Blois. I recommend renting here.
