Huttopia Les Châteaux

The pitches were spacious and set beautifully among the natural surroundings, giving us room, peace, and a lovely connection with nature. It’s also a great base for cycling to the nearby castles, which are an easy ride and well worth seeing. What made the stay especially lovely was the staff: kind, attentive, and so welcoming to children that we felt at home straight away. The big café on site has a dedicated kids’ area, and it was a cozy, thoughtful place to spend time on rainy days. This campsite went beyond what we expected. We can’t wait to return. If I could give it six stars out of five, I would. It felt less like a holiday and more like being part of a family.

We spent three days at Camping Les Chateaux and found a great spot in a lovely setting. The campsite sits on the edge of a small town, with several shops within walking distance. The pitches are large, and the facilities are modern and kept very clean. Chateau de Chambord is close enough to reach by bike on a flat forest cycle track. We especially liked the big municipal pool right next door, where campsite members get free entry.

The staff were wonderfully friendly, and the pitches sit among trees. The shower and toilet blocks were spotless. A couple more water taps around the site might be useful. We’ll come again. For a short walk into town, the buffet cafe/restaurant Le Commerce is very reasonably priced, and its staff are lovely and welcoming.

We came in October, and the covered pool was heated and open. There’s also tennis and table tennis, with equipment available to borrow. The site is peaceful among the trees, yet the village shops and restaurants are an easy walk away, and there’s great biking from here. The layout and facilities are thoughtfully done, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I thoroughly recommend this excellent campsite.
