We came for one night to attend a football match in Brest. The hotel doesn’t have its own parking, although luckily we found a nearby street space and only paid for a few hours. The room was very, very small, but clean, with a comfortable bed and a great shower. The bathroom smelled a little damp. Breakfast was good and the staff were efficient and helpful. We watched the match again on Canal+ sport when we got back. I didn’t see a bar, so I kept a small bottle in the mini-bar.

The staff handled the problem well and brought me an extra fan, and I was pleased when they upgraded my room. Still, I was really disappointed to find there was no air-conditioning, especially since I was travelling alone and comfort mattered more to me than room size. I wish they’d said directly that there wasn’t any instead of leaving it unstated. I happened to visit during the hottest spell, so I’d recommend the hotel in winter or cooler weather, but not summer.

The view of the sea from this downtown hotel is very limited. Staff were lovely and gave us a warm welcome, and breakfast had a good buffet selection of quality products. The only downside was that the safe was too small for even a small computer.

We especially appreciated how helpful the staff were. They gave us directions, made a couple of dinner reservations, and shared useful advice on local restaurants and how the buses work. We’ll definitely return. The hotel has been renovated recently, and our fourth-floor suite had large, fairly comfortable beds and a great view towards the bay.

The room was fine, though a little smaller than I’d expected. The staff were great, and the hotel’s close to lots of Brest attractions.
