March 2016: It was my eighth year coming to Brides and my sixth at Hotel Athena. I can’t think of another place in 3 Valley with this kind of warmth and hospitality. I love it there and can’t wait for 2017! Athena has been my favorite place for a ski holiday for years. After a tough day on the slopes, it’s warm and relaxing, and I sleep like a baby listening to the stream. The staff are so hospitable, and I always look forward to coming back. Hope to see everyone next year!

We paid 268€ for one night in mid-June and were called “economical class customer.” Room 401 is right by reception and extremely noisy, don’t accept it. The hotel really isn’t for dogs. WiFi was very bad, though the location is convenient, close to the town center.

It’s a quiet part of town, near a nice park and water source, with a lovely river view from the balcony and mountains beyond. Staff were friendly and very client-oriented. Breakfast was good, and the French and Savoyard half-board dinners were excellent. The skibus stop is nearby, and it’s a five-minute ride or ten-minute walk to the center. The town is small, with just a few shops and bars, and shop hours are limited. Getting to the ski area takes about 30 minutes by lift, which runs from 9 to 17. Buses between towns are infrequent and vary by weekday. Taxis are available, around 25E to Moutier.
