We stayed at the Camping & Safari Lodge at the end of August, and it's a lovely, peaceful campsite. The walk into town is easy and flat, and the views of the hills are amazing. We also appreciated how spotless the toilets, showers, and sinks were each morning. The pool is a good size, with plenty of loungers for the number of people using it. There are table tennis and pétanque, a shady bar area, and often some evening entertainment. The children's activities were friendly and welcoming, run professionally by two enthusiastic people who made an effort to include anyone who wanted to join in. For a campsite this size, the snack bar has an impressive choice of food and drinks. The handmade burgers and pizzas were especially good, and there are local beers on tap and in bottles. You can borrow cards and table games from the bar, and order bread and croissants the day before. We'll be back.

We came at the end of the season, and everything had some wear to it. The sanitary facilities and pool, and even the staff, all seemed to be winding down after a busy period. The site is really well placed just outside lovely Buis les Barronies, with climbing, cycling, mountain biking, and hiking all ideal activities nearby.

We walked the Sentier Botanique de l'Aiguille from the campsite, leaving the car at Villages Vacances and following the yellow 'Sentier Botanique' signs. The 5.5 km route to the summit took us about three hours with stops. We had two children with us, aged 5 and 8. The scenery is beautiful, and there are views of Mont Ventoux. If you're interested in plants, there are lots of signs about the trees and bushes, though they're only in French. When you get back, you can cool off in the little stream by the entrance to the villages.
