Les Jardins Sauvages

After a long day hiking, this was exactly the kind of place we hoped to find. The gardens and rooms are beautiful and welcoming, and the hosts were gracious, helpful, and accommodating. Our spacious room was spotless and had everything we needed to relax. We only wish we’d had more time, and hope to stay again.

We stayed at Les Jardins Sauvages while walking the via Podiensis, and were so glad we did. The welcome was warm, and they spoke English. Our room was private, quiet, spacious, stylish, and beautiful, with a wonderfully comfortable bed. There’s also a lovely sunny garden to relax in. Highly recommend!

Update, Nov. 2022: We returned and had another comfortable, delightful stay. Breakfast included warm croissants and preserves from the garden, and it was lovely to catch up with our charming hosts. We slept peacefully in luxurious linen sheets. Les Jardins Sauvages is close to everything in Cabrerets, including the path to the prehistoric cave drawings at Pêche Merle, yet it’s blissfully quiet. Their artisanal garden foods are sold in local specialty stores, and the atelier of artist Anne Turlais is a block away. It was already an ideal place for trekking along the Sele River on our first visit. Marie Laure and Eric are delightful, considerate hosts, the garden is beautiful, and the accommodation was perfect. We’d go back in a heartbeat.

We loved our chats with Marie Laure and Eric each morning. They took a real interest in our stay, asking what we enjoyed and suggesting excellent hikes and other activities. Their contemporary "Heart of the Causse" room was enchanting, with lovely linens, a warm floor, and one wall of natural limestone. Breakfast was delicious and high quality, with homemade preserves, served in their beautifully restored and modernized kitchen. The location is the best in Cabrerets, on a quiet street among adorable buildings, a block from shops, ateliers, and restaurants, and right on the GR 651 footpath to Peche Merle or Saint-Cirq-LaPopie. They’ve created a wonderful experience for their guests. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you, Marie Laure and Eric!
