Les Terrasses Du Soleil

I had a peaceful long weekend on the Riviera, with good weather all three days and breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Mediterranean. The house and the gout de miel suite have loads of history, and the hosts were warm and easy to talk to. The area was lovely and quiet. I did notice someone had given the place four stars at some point, and I’d be curious to know why. Honestly, what more could you ask for?

The hosts made us feel right at home and really looked after us. They were welcoming, quick to respond even to a very last-minute request, and gave us useful ideas for things to do nearby. With a charming, comfortable room and a wonderful terrace, our weekend was just perfect. Definitely recommended.

Catherine was so lovely and helpful. She gave us maps, advice on where to go and how to get there, and even tips on where to park. Breakfast had eggs, baguettes, croissants, cheeses, cherry tomatoes, yogurts, and a glass of cut fruit each morning, with a different fruit every day. One of the yogurts was homemade by Catherine. Our comfortable room had a fridge and electric kettle, plus treats like a bottle of water and a bag of cookies. The motel is in the old part of Cagnes-sur-Mer, on a hill near Grimaldi Castle. There are several nice restaurants in the area for dinner. Free bus No. 44 runs from the town center up the hill every 20 minutes, and stops right in front of the motel.

I’d waited a long time to visit this beautiful place, and it was worth it in every way.
