We picked this inexpensive hotel for the price, location, and because pets could stay in the room before we left Calais for Spain. The staff were polite and friendly, and spoke English better than we spoke French. The room was clean and the bar area was nice. Parking was the one hassle: the car park was a short walk away, so with two pets and all their luggage we had to make a couple of trips. There's a lovely cafe and a petisary nearby, plus a supermarket across the road. I'd stay here again if passing through.

Cheap, small, basic room, but the mattress was clean and nicely firm. No air con or kettle in the room. Really just somewhere to sleep.

The room was clean and quiet, and comfortable enough for a stay in Calais. At first the hotel looks sterile, with plain, generic hallways and doors, but inside the room felt very clean. There's nothing especially special about it. It's in the city centre, and the beach is about a 20-30 minute walk away. I also appreciate that the hotel allows pets.

The staff were kind and flexible when we needed extra help after an issue at the channel tunnel left us unexpectedly stuck in Calais. They even kept our luggage in a secure place after checkout and went out of their way for us. It was probably the best hotel experience I've ever had. The place is dog friendly too, and well situated for exploring this lovely city.

Free street parking has always had the one space we needed. The hotel is also a permanent home to Gendarmes, so be prepared to see camouflage combats, automatic weapons, and slippers. Staff are consistently polite and friendly, the rooms are clean and spacious, the bathrooms are good, and the breakfast buffet is very good.
