Résidence Padro

The studio’s small, but it’s nice, clean, quiet, and well equipped. There’s a little terrace screened by a hedge, plus a lovely pool, a nice bar, and a great view. Shops are close, about five minutes away, including a bakery and a small but well-stocked supermarket. Calvi and its beaches are ten minutes away. Great value 👍🌅🩵

The apartment was the letdown for us, even though we were upgraded to a larger one. The bed was really uncomfortable, the place wasn’t cleaned properly, and the coffee maker, toaster, and other utensils were too dirty or worn to use. After showering there was a strong sewage smell, and the shower door wouldn’t shut properly. I can’t see how the €40 cleaning charge between guests is justified. On the good side, the welcome was warm, the staff were very friendly, and breakfast was simple but good. This wasn’t the best part of our Corsica stay, and I suspect it might not be yours either.

After twelve hours of driving and ferry travel, we finally got the apartment keys, only to find there was no hot water. When we told the hotel staff, they replied, “It firms the flesh!!!” It took nearly two days before we had hot water. The cleaning and maintenance were poor. The dishwasher was disgusting, the floor dirty, the bathroom drain nearly clogged, and the grout was dirty or missing. There was mold in the toilet. Outside, the parasol was broken, the table damaged and rusty, and the clothesline broken. You need to be at least 1.70 meters tall to reach the microwave. For €950 a week, you can find much better. I strongly advise against staying here.

The managers gave us a pleasant welcome, and the studio was as described. The residence was very clean, and the peaceful pool is surrounded by greenery. I only missed having basic kitchen supplies like salt, pepper, oil, and sugar.
