There’s loads of space in this lovely Villa, which works well for big families or anyone with active toddlers. The rooms were clean and reasonably well kept. A few things could use attention, like the tatty curtains, but otherwise it was lovely.

The pool area was lovely and clean, but the equipment elsewhere was very basic. There was a leak smell and early signs of mold from water damage on the ceiling. Food had been left on the terrace, and the garden dew was completely soaked.

The room advertised for four was supposed to have four double beds, but it had one double bed and a pullout couch. Check-in was unpleasant too, and nobody spoke English when we tried to check in. The listing makes it look as though you can use the pool. Not worth the money.

Booking Villa Branda doesn’t mean you’re necessarily booking a villa. Villa Branda is a complex with the villa and several apartments, and the host’s description confused us into thinking we’d booked the villa when we’d actually booked one of the Villa Branda appartements. We complained that our group of 10 people didn’t have the pool or living room we expected. The hosts then started withdrawing money from our bank account. When we said we didn’t want to pay the full price, he told us, “i know people, and I will finish you”.

The owners were friendly, and the place was clean and generally well equipped. Free parking was a plus. Good value for money, though it’s about a 30-minute walk to the historic centre.
