Hôtel Modern' Waikiki

Everything was close by, and the staff were incredibly happy. The rooms were beautiful and the location in Cannes was perfect. The train and bus stations are just 100 metres away, making it easy to get to Nice and other cities.

The room at Modern Waikiki Hotel had no real window, so there was no fresh air, and the mold and smell made me sick. When I tried to raise the problems, the hostess was aggressive and dismissive. They still refused to refund me. This was the worst hotel stay I've had, and I felt completely scammed. Avoid it if you value your health or your trip.

I only stayed one night, but I was so disgusted by the room that I wanted to move to another hotel. It was dirty, with black mold in the bathroom and lots of hair on one pillow. There was barely any sunlight through the small windows, and a blinking light outside kept us awake because we couldn't cover it. The bed and mattress looked clean, but I had no trust in the place. I also got a strange feeling in my throat each time I entered. I turned on the A/C for ventilation, then noticed white mold on it during the night. I'd book an expensive room or stay somewhere else.

The staff, including Mathilde, Abdel, Pascal & team, were so friendly and polite. From my balcony I could watch the fireworks, which was lovely. With competitive rates and a hard-to-beat location, this is a great base in Cannes. I'd happily come back, hopefully soon.
