The restaurant was the highlight for me, with really good dinner choices. As a solo woman traveling in low season, I also felt safe, and my room was very clean. It was easy to walk to both the Cité and the train station. Checkout was awkward, though: a staff member argued with my roommate about staying in the room, even though checkout was still 20 minutes away.

I got there early on my solo trip and asked if I could leave my luggage while I went exploring. Sarita at reception was lovely and helpful, and even gave me water and a city map. The place felt safe, was clean, and is in a good location. :)

The only snag was the WiFi being a little slow 😁. I stayed in the six-bed women's room, which was clean, and the bed was comfortable with privacy curtains. Sara at reception was especially welcoming and helpful. The hostel is on a quiet street, close to the station and shopping streets, and the medieval city is an easy walk away.

The staff made my stay, especially the lovely petite lady, as she told me I could call her that 😉. She gave me useful tips and a discount for an activity in the city. The rooms are nicely designed, with big lockers and comfortable beds with privacy curtains. It's right in the centre of new Carcassonne. I'd happily recommend the hostel.

The lift was being repaired, but a helpful young staff member got us to our room. We enjoyed our stay. The room was a good size and clean, and the staff were friendly. The location is handy for the train station and within walking distance of everything Carsasconne has to offer.
