The staff stayed very friendly throughout, and I appreciated their kindness. Still, I definitely wouldn’t come back, and I hope my company takes the same advice. We paid well over €100 per room per night for three rooms in mid-April, expecting a modern, high-quality hotel, but the place fell well short. It feels outdated and the service lacks professionalism, despite the upscale price. The rooms were spacious, and the rooms and breakfast were okay, but there were plenty of problems. The hallways smelled dusty and minty, the shower head was badly clogged, and the sink water had a strong chlorine smell. The lights in the room were much too bright, so in the evening I used the bathroom light with the door three-quarters closed instead. There’s no gym or other useful amenities apart from a meeting room. I didn’t find any sign of bed bugs. The hotel calls itself green, but they replaced my towel even though I’d left it hanging on the hook. All our key cards stopped working halfway through the stay, and mine failed again the next day. The secure parking was open to anyone because the key-card door lock was broken. At the bar, none of the advertised drinks were available. We were told cocktails were only served in summer, though that wasn’t mentioned anywhere, and the bartender didn’t know what a Martini was or where to find it. Checking out took about ten minutes because the receptionist struggled to combine our rooms into one account. And the shoe cleaner shown on the website was sitting in the toilet, which I thought was pretty funny. The staff remained kind, though.

The hotel is in a good spot, it’s quiet, and the beds are comfortable. But the welcome was unprofessional. The staff had music playing so loudly we couldn’t hear them and had to shout our replies. When we turned it down ourselves, they gave us a cold look. Do they provide any staff training?

The team gave us a wonderful welcome. It was also nice to see the whole hotel, restaurant included, still having lunch together at 11:30 each day. There are several restaurants nearby, and secure parking is available if you need it. I highly recommend this location.

Our ground-floor room had a door straight out to the lawn, which made taking the dog outside really easy. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance too. A fun hotel, and we’d definitely stay again.
