A really cool old entrance into the city.
Superb...
Great!
Built in the 18th century, this monumental gate was opened for Marie Antoinette's visit on May 11, 1770. She was 14 and on her way to Versailles, where she was to marry the Dauphin on May 16, 1770. She passed through the gate twice more, first during the royal family's flight to Varennes and later on the journey back to Paris after her arrest. The monument opens to visitors during Heritage Days.
