The hosts Amélie & Lionel were incredibly kind and helpful. We’d assumed, as silly English tourists, that we could catch a bus from nearby Murol to our next destination, but that wasn’t possible. Amélie called several cab companies for us, then kindly arranged a car herself to take us to nearby Aydat. We loved our stay. The hotel is charming and right across from the lake, with a real homey feel and one of the best breakfasts we had in the region. Though it’s in a historic building, with a lovely story about the property in the information, it’s clean, modern, and beautifully maintained.

Hotel Bellevue is a quirky, characterful old hotel right on the shore of Lake Chambon, with beautiful views. It’s family-run by a young, energetic husband and wife. We had a lovely night with our two dogs in a small attic room, and it was scrupulously clean. Breakfast was very good too, with a nice selection. We really liked the place.

The staff are kind and helpful, and the decor feels both original and cozy. Breakfast was worth more than the price asked, and the hotel offers excellent value. Staying here is like catching up with an old friend and finding they’ve held up really well. We’re looking forward to coming back next year. Highly recommendable.

I’ve stayed here three times and have always been welcomed warmly. The lake views are great, and there’s free WiFi and a pass key for coming in late at night. Breakfast has a great range, with as much as you can eat.
