Les chambres du lac

The welcome was excellent, thank you. We were two couples and had two very pleasant bedrooms, each with a large bathroom and toilet just for us. Everything was impeccably clean. Breakfast was very good too, including waffles the hostess made fresh at the last minute.

There was no privacy for changing, the room was freezing at 14°C when we arrived, and the bathroom was impractical. The amenities were outdated, with no Wi-Fi and an old TV. My friend and I had booked a 40 m² quadruple room for a wedding, with a double bed, two singles, and a private bathroom. The owner said Booking.com had made a mistake and demanded another €60 for the room we'd reserved, then locked the door and left us sharing a tiny twin room. Outrageous. It felt like paying to sleep at your parents' house, only less comfortable and still without privacy. We were told breakfast had to be at 9:30 a.m. at the latest. Luckily, the woman seemed to realize she'd ripped us off and wanted to make amends, so she was kind in the morning and let us leave at 11.

The owners were kind and friendly, and took excellent care of us. The real treat was breakfast: delicious fresh bread and waffles, jams, homemade yogurt, and more. We stayed with our two daughters at the end of May and had two very spacious bedrooms with a private bathroom. The decor is simple and a little dated, especially in the bathroom. It's wonderfully peaceful; with the window open, all you hear at night is birds.

The room had everything we needed, and the place was impeccably clean. We were warmly welcomed and the hosts stayed attentive to our needs. Breakfast was fabulous, with fresh waffles and homemade apple and banana cake, plus thoughtful treats for our discerning palates. We'd happily come back.
