I was travelling alone and felt good about the location: it’s an easy-to-find hotel in a safe area, just a five-minute walk from Charbonnieres-Les-Bains train station. The staff were friendly and helpful, and it was so quiet at night. The room had what I needed, though I’d have liked a small manicure kit with a cotton pad for removing makeup, since I’d forgotten to bring one. Would I return? Yes.

Whenever we’re in town, we stop by the restaurant. There’s a big menu, generous portions, and friendly staff. They were especially welcoming to our dog, and it’s a lovely spot for eating outdoors.

The restaurant was acceptable, though the menu didn’t offer many choices. The facilities felt very old, with dim lighting, a bedside lamp that didn’t work, and cobwebs on the ceiling. The toilet kept flooding all night, and the curtains trailed onto the floor. The staff didn’t seem very caring.

The staff were somewhere in the middle, neither rude nor friendly. Our sheets had a slight body odor, and there was no air conditioning in the room. The car park only fits five vehicles, so I imagine spaces get tight when it’s busy. Breakfast was a joke for €11, just bread, butter, and coffee. I won’t be back.
