I rented an apartment from Chamroc Via their website, chatelreservation.com, last year, and the experience was very disappointing. The customer service and the way the problems were handled left a very bad impression. When we arrived, some of the bedding was filthy. We went back to report it and were first told they wouldn’t take back “used” bedding. I explained that some had already been used before we got there, but the owner responded by shouting at us aggressively, with no respect or dignity. In the end, Zoé understood and acknowledged what had happened. Of the five bags of bedding supplied, two were clearly already used, and she refunded us for those. We appreciated the refund, but the owner never apologized for how we’d been treated. We were also charged at the end of our stay for a hoover that we supposedly took from the property. We hadn’t removed it. We’d put it in a different cupboard and clearly told the staff where it was, yet they charged us anyway.

We arrived expecting an apartment in Chatel, but found out it was in Linga, about 2 miles from the centre. We booked through Chatel Reservation, and the whole thing felt misleading. I wouldn’t use Chatel Resevation again.

After a two-week stay, we left the apartment cleaner than we found it, as it wasn’t especially clean when we arrived. The company still kept most of our cleaning deposit, claiming we’d left a mess. A very disappointing experience. Watch out for them holding on to your deposit for reasons that aren’t true.

The owner claimed we’d left the apartment unclean, even though we’d paid a lot in advance for it to be cleaned after our stay. Then the people at chatelreservation said we’d broken things. The only damage they pointed to was a leg on an outdoor table we hadn’t even touched. The strangest claim was that we’d broken his barbeque, though there wasn’t one in the apartment at all. After a lot of arguing, the owner returned part of the deposit and drove away. Chatel Reservation tried to tell us we’d got a good deal, but we felt we’d been scammed out of a few hundred euros. Maybe that explains the cheap apartments. If you book here, inspect the whole place carefully before your stay so you can’t be blamed for damage that was already there.
