La Maison De Famille

We’ll definitely come back. La Maison de Famille made our two-night stay feel like a real home, from the fire lit in the sitting room when we arrived to the tea and coffee in our comfortable king-size room. Breakfast the next morning was traditional and generous, with plenty of coffee, warm breads and croissants, homemade jams, cheese, and local honey. They also helped us with dining options and chatted with us about The Chateau. It’s an easy walk to fabulous Chateau Chenonceaux. We love this village as a place to take in more of France’s delights and wonders before Paris and our flight home to Canada.

Cecile emailed me two days before I was due to arrive, asking me to cancel for free because she needed to go elsewhere to care for her injured husband. When I contacted Expedia, my refund request was initially denied because the owner claimed the cancellation was my decision. That was a big lie. I had to forward Expedia Cecile’s email, where she asked me to cancel and explained the problem, before I finally got my money back. It was very unethical of Cecile to blame me and try to get money without providing the service. I was left looking for another reservation in the middle of my vacation.

A little gem, with spacious, clean rooms, a lovely garden and a comfortable sitting room. The hosts are great. We’d definitely go back.
