Best Western Clermont Ferrand Centre Hotel

Checking in with our group was quite a challenge. There was nowhere to park the bus, so we brought the luggage across the street and carried it up the stairs. It wasn’t a huge amount, but doing that at night in the rain when we were tired made it difficult.

The room was cosy and tidy, and breakfast was yummy. It’s a good place to stay with family too. Thanks for the good service.

The whole room was disgusting and not clean at all. I took pictures of just a few things, but we ended up wiping everything down ourselves. Breakfast was cold and not worth what they charged. Also, be warned: there’s no longer an underground parking garage. I booked a long time ago thinking there was one, as older reviews seem to say there used to be. Now you have to use a public lot away from the hotel and pay extra. I’m so unhappy with this hotel.

The reception team were wonderful, always smiling and helpful. Five stars for them. But the dining manager, or whatever his role was, left me with a bad impression of the stay. He was the man with glasses. Four of us ate there and none of us liked our food. My friend, who hardly ever complains about food, said it was really bad. I ordered a cut of meat and could tell something was off from the smell. It was very chewy, full of membranes, and I couldn’t even cut it. It was late, we were tired and had already waited a long time. I ate what I could. I only touched the salad and fries, and left the meat. When the man came to clear the plates, he asked whether I hadn’t liked it and why. I said the smell, taste and chewy texture were really bad for me. He pulled a face as if I’d insulted him. I didn’t want a scene and just wanted to go to bed, so I said it was okay and not a problem. He replied, “Well, I don’t have any problem.” LOL, arrogant. You should, mister. You serve disgusting food and then have the nerve to act like a spoiled brat. I don’t like people serving customers when they don’t know how to do it. “You don’t have any problem”? Neither do I. There’d be more business trips, and Holiday Inn definitely wouldn’t be our choice if you keep acting like an annoyed kid. Grow up, learn to take criticism and pass it on to the chefs. It’s that simple.
