The restaurant downstairs was our favorite meal in Colmar, and the reception staff made us feel very welcome. We had a romantic honeymoon stay, with a comfortable bed, a stunning view, quaint windows, and flowers in the window baskets. It all felt like a fairytale. I think our room might have been haunted 🤣, but that added to the charm of the historic building. Stan the dog might be at the front desk too if you're lucky. It's easy to walk to museums, shops, and Petite venise, though this is a tourist area without residential businesses or pharmacies nearby. A sunset gondola ride that passes the hotel would be lovely. Thanks to Hotel Le Maréchal for a lovely stay!❤️

The hotel has a very authentic European feel and a great spot in town, but I left disappointed with the staff and facilities. It felt quaint and cozy, though not like a four star stay. There were no washcloths, soap, shampoo, or lotion, and there was no hot water in the morning for a bath. Service seemed indifferent and disorganized, with little interest in helping. Breakfast was sparse and a big letdown after similar meals elsewhere in France and Europe. At the bar, we were told they couldn't make sandwiches because they'd run out of bread. When I asked for help with room service, they told me to use Uber Eats.

The hotel entrance looked like a magical winter wonderland, and inside the main building was quaint, historic, and charming. But we didn't actually stay in that hotel. We were sent to an annex that felt completely different from what the LeMarechal website advertises, more like a local dorm than a romantic hotel. There were local residents living on the floor above. I asked the clerk, Loan, who confirmed that locals lived in the annex and said nothing could be done. By then we just wanted to leave. We wanted a hotel stay, not something like an Airbnb or someone's dorm, and felt completely deceived. Colmar had been the town we most looked forward to on our Christmas markets trip, but this poor stay made it the least magical. Disappointment and dissatisfaction barely cover it. I attached photos so people can compare them with the website and see what felt like a brutal deception.

Dinner was superb, and the service was excellent and very friendly. It's a small hotel in Colmar, in one of the best locations in Alsace. I can recommend it.

Even with the cold, rainy weather, we really enjoyed our stay. Loan at the front desk was knowledgeable and very helpful, and the customer service was great. We were seated right away at the restaurant, where the food and service were fantastic. The location makes it easy to walk everywhere in Petite Venice. The bar was great too, with good cocktails, atmosphere, and service.
