Kyriad Prestige Compiègne Hotel & Spa

We had a nice short stay on the way home from our holiday, and the hotel is modern, clean, and has comfortable beds and free parking. Still, for a 4 star hotel, there are things that could be better. We missed having a fridge in the room for drinks, and the breakfast buffet had no lactose-free milk or soja drink. Dinner cost way too much for the small portions, and the food didn’t seem fresh. Our server was slow and didn’t know the ingredients in some dishes, which isn’t okay for guests with allergies. Dogs are allowed for a fee, but our little friends weren’t given a bowl or a bed.

The spa and fitness facilities were amazing. The place has a beautiful setup, great rooms, and a great location. I’d stay here again.

The free parking was useful, though one day the gardener blew dust and debris across everyone’s cars while cleaning the lot. Our rental was lucky to be there. The hotel looks modern, and the room was clean, but it had very little in it: no bar fridge, robes, slippers, or vanity products beyond basic soap. There was no heated towel rack either. Chromecast on the TV was a plus for visitors who don’t speak the local language. The staff seemed to do the bare minimum, often on their phones in the early to late evening, and acted as if we were bothering them. We had to reset the room key card every day to get in. The spa room wasn’t available; they said it was being renovated, but I saw no work during our 4 day stay. I’m not sure how this got a 4 star rating, because it didn’t feel like one.

The room was thoughtfully designed, clean, and comfortable, and the interior felt cosy. The architecture is wonderful, with a building that gives you Tadao Ando vibes, so it’s an exceptional experience for architects. We only stayed one night, but it was such a nice place to be. All compliments to the architect!
