Les Jardins Carnot

We booked a room for three nights but had to cancel because my mother was seriously ill. We called and emailed several times, but heard absolutely nothing back, not even a phone call or email. We hoped for a response, but in the end we didn’t show up. It’s a real shame that nobody got back to us. We definitely won’t stay there again.

The shower was the letdown: barely any water pressure, and the faucet was coming loose from the wall. The breakfast basket was almost good, though each person only got one sachet of instant coffee. A thermos of proper coffee would have been nice. Chloé welcomed us warmly, and the room was pleasant, but the bedding was just average.

Mr. and Mrs. Delcourt were kind, helpful, and quick to respond. The place itself is peaceful, relaxing, and beautifully decorated. We had a really lovely, restful break there.

The toilet water backed up into the shower tray and flooded most of the bathroom, so we couldn't shower. The owner seemed to know about it but didn't come to fix anything or try to help. She just suggested we use another room, even though we were about to leave. There was no heating, including in the bathroom, despite the bitter cold, with temperatures at 6 degrees Celsius in the evening and at night. Breakfast was minimal and unremarkable. The room was nice and the location fairly good, but what a disappointment. Avoid at all costs.
