Laurent’s wine tasting is well worth booking if you can. It’s a great introduction to wine. The whole place feels thoughtfully put together, from the rooms and breakfast to the practical details. Sophie and Laurent are passionate about what they do, and their hospitality is both warm and very professional. They’ve created such a distinctive stay that it’s hard to believe a B&B could outdo a luxury hotel. My only worry about praising Clos des Tilleuls is that it’ll get even harder to book next time.

The breakfast is prepared with care, and the wines available for guests to pour for themselves are a real treat. Sophie and Laurent also have lots of ideas for things to see in Burgundy, and their restaurant suggestions are worth following, especially if you love wine. The house has been renovated with real style. There are lovely shared rooms, a charming garden and a beautiful pool, though our room was so nice we could have happily stayed in it. From booking right through to checkout, everything was easy. Sophie and Laurent were helpful, warm and welcoming. Friends recommended the place, and we were so glad they did. If you're visiting Burgundy, you have to stay at LES CLOS DES TILLEULS. We had such a good time and really didn't want to leave. We'll definitely return with a nice bottle of Swiss Pinot. They cancelled our stay on their own, leaving us without a place for the night with two children under five. We arrived a few hours early with very young kids. We understood that the room wasn't ready, but the owner wouldn't let us into the building or use the outside facilities. At first, even our five-year-old couldn't use the bathroom. Very unreliable. I wouldn't recommend booking this hotel for any reason.

The rooms were large and comfortable, and getting to Beaune and the other towns was easy. There’s no air conditioning, but we managed fine. The hosts were great and helpful, and even booked us some amazing restaurants.
