The Originals Boutique, Hôtel du Château, Dinan

Cosmo at reception went out of his way with useful advice and practical help, and the service throughout was great. Breakfast was generous, with plenty of high quality items. The rooms are compact but comfortable, with stylish decor, and we enjoyed having an outdoor terrace. The Hotel du Chateau is also exceptionally convenient: secure parking off the street, just at the edge of the old town, and only 5 min walk from the centre.

Don't stay here if you don't drive, since they can't get taxis. Breakfast croissants ran out, we had to ask for fresh towels after 3 days, and the wifi was out for 2 dayd.

The staff knew the area well and were so helpful. I enjoyed chatting with them each morning. The lobby and dining room were immaculate, and I liked the Japanese items around the hotel, perhaps because I'm coming from Japan. The downtown is extremely close, with beautiful architecture and a romantic feel that's lovely to wander through. Morning walks are a must, and it felt safe at any time. I absolutely love this place.

The rooms were pleasant and the bathroom looked smart, but there were no ceiling lights, so the rooms got dark fast once the sun went down. The staff were lovely and helpful, and spoke very good English. They seemed pleased to chat with tourists in English in February, certainly off peak. Breakfast was very good too. I liked both the hotel and the city, and it was perfect for a night.
