Hotel Marguerite

The room, numbered 4, was a great size, as was the en-suite, and the location was very convenient. It faces a busy road, so it can be noisy, though it was pretty quiet at night. Breakfast was pretty good too. We had a great welcome at check-in. They gave us an English tourist map and pointed out a few main POI.

The location was good and the rooms were big. But the bed linen was dirty, there was no AC, and after the first night the room hadn't been cleaned or the towels changed. When we complained, we were told we should have let them know beforehand if we wanted the room cleaned.

A lovely little hotel in the upper part of Dinan, with comfortable, basic rooms. Front Desk service was excellent, and there's a good restaurant right next door.

The hotel is well placed for visiting this fascinating medieval town, with a restaurant nearby serving well-prepared dishes. Our rooms were very clean, and the breakfast was excellent. The team were friendly and welcoming, and patient throughout the booking process, which had been delayed by Covid for two years. They also stored our bikes safely. Be careful approaching the hotel by bike. You can push the bikes up a steep climb, or, if you're confident, ride up rue du port and turn left towards tourist info and château. We'd recommend le Challonge without reservation. Chris Cooper
