So far, things are going well.

The owners were friendly and the service was excellent. I grew up in the countryside and love animals, so that wasn't an issue. But once we got to the room, we couldn't believe it. There was a strong smell, which we later found out came from one of their dogs. There were no locks or security measures anywhere on the property, and no key in the room. The drawers wouldn't close. The worst part was all the cobwebs and spiders. We were there with two children, and they ended up covered in bites. Under the beds, we found rubbish and a bra that looked like it had been there a long time. The mattresses were old, thin and misshapen. I'm 1.80 meters tall, and because the beds were built into the walls, my head touched one wall while my feet touched the other. Breakfast was quite good, except for some sugar packets that were over 30 years old. When we went into the bathroom, a cat jumped out of the closet. Luckily, none of us are allergic. I wouldn't stay there again. As soon as we saw the room, we started looking for another place, no matter the cost, but it was August and everything was booked. I'm writing this because I'm surprised nobody else has mentioned these things. Most reviews say the opposite, which is why I chose this place in the first place.

The attic is huge, and sleeping in the hanging beds with the children was a fun adventure. They were totally comfortable, though there are proper guest beds next door too. The manor house is beautiful, and the hosts are lovely and helpful. Breakfast was magnificent, and the whole visit was so relaxing. The children fell in love with the house dog. My daughter is usually afraid of dogs, and Noë is a big retriever, but she adored it. Thank you so much.
