A couple of things to keep in mind: the main house has a very steep staircase, so it isn't suitable for people with reduced mobility. There's also no cell phone reception inside the houses, which may be an advantage for some. Otherwise, the cottage is lovely, secluded and surrounded by nature. The house, gardens, and pool are very well maintained, and the owners are welcoming and helpful.

We visited in late May/early June, when flowers and all kinds of trees made the beautifully landscaped grounds especially lovely. The peaceful setting and idyllic valley view were a treat. The Prune cottage is a fine example of 19th-century farm buildings. Its roof structure has a remarkable main beam, shaped from a single tree trunk. Modern comforts are all there, of course. On sunny days there's the swimming pool, and there are plenty of excursions in the region if the weather doesn't cooperate.

A beautiful, quiet cottage, and the owner made us feel very welcome. Great place.
