Premiere Classe Evreux

For a quick stop of a day or two before continuing your trip, it does the job at this price. The beds are clean, though the shower is small. This is for people looking for a cheap, short stay, not a five-star hotel.

The next morning's breakfast was reasonably good, but after that night in the room it was hard to enjoy. It reeked of smoke, and I couldn't sleep at all. The room was also poorly maintained, with the shower drain detached. This place needs a full renovation or should be shut down. I stayed one night on 8th April ‘23, arriving after 1am. I booked partly because this motel chain has automated check-in, which suited my late arrival. But the parking gate was locked, and the pedestrian gate was chained shut. A note told me to call a number for access. Someone eventually answered and gave me a gate code. The check-in machine was out of order, then a staff member showed up at the door a few minutes later. I was disgusted, and I shouldn't have let the cheap nightly rate sway my judgment.

On our last two stays, the basics let us down. Both times there were two of us but only ONE towel in the room. On the return visit, we arrived in the early evening and found four cars ahead of us, all unable to get in. The gate was shut, and reception didn't answer our calls. Eventually a returning customer got us in with a code. During the other stay, we had arranged to arrive around 1am, after reception closed, and phoned the day before as advised to get the parking gate code. That worked when we arrived, but when we tried to leave just after 7am, the exit gate was closed and no one could get out until someone with a code came along. We've stayed here four times over the last few years. The rooms aren't fancy, but they're small and clean, which is what we expect for the price. We only need a warm, dry room and a bed. Please sort out the towels and keep the gate open while reception is staffed. We often stay at the Chartres Première Classe and have never had any problems there. We're coming back in December and January, and I hope these aren't our last stays here.

The price was good, as usual, but this was pretty grim compared with other Premiere Classe hotels I've stayed in. The room was stained, and you could see outside through the door.
