Hôtel La Villa d'Eze

My husband made the mistake of asking a question at the counter, where two men already looked irritated. One of them scowled and snapped back at him in a raised, aggressive voice. Maybe it was the question, maybe that he was speaking English. I was shocked. Then I saw the other man shake his head, mutter, and circle his finger beside his ear to call my husband a simpleton. He did it right in front of us. It was disgusting and completely unnecessary, so we left straight away. This was the nastiest staff encounter we've had in France.

We didn't stay at the hotel, just had lunch in the sunshine. The staff were super nice and the food was good. We ordered chicken salad, warm chèvre salad, and a bucket of fries. The fries were a bit expensive, but everything was really good.

This is our family's favorite pizza place in Eze. We're here for a few weeks every other month, and Friday night pizza from here has become our routine. We like ordering takeaway, then having a drink and chatting with the kind owner while we wait.

We had a lovely group lunch here. The mozzarella and tomato starter was very good, the cod with polenta was excellent, and the lemon pie was amazing. Great restaurant and delicious food!
