Mijo's Appartements Hôtel

The night receptionist was polite and attentive, and we liked having complimentary coffee and tea, even though the quality wasn't great. We also found the room pleasant and the location handy, with a 13-minute train ride to Paris and 25 minutes to Disneyland. Our mornings were a different story. The morning receptionist made rude, unprofessional remarks to guests, not just us, and seemed annoyed whenever someone needed help. He often appeared more interested in watching TV on his laptop than doing his job, which felt inappropriate in a hotel. We were also charged a deposit and waited 14 days to get it back. A deposit should be returned on checkout day. We've stayed in hotels around the world and never had this sort of issue.

They had a nice express breakfast surprise, with tasty croissants, coffee and orange juice. The welcome was friendly, and the room was clean, warm and had what I needed for 3-4 nights. I did notice some moisture and ventilation issues, and at times the bathroom smelled a little. Nothing too serious, though. I'll book the same place next time for sure.

For a decent price, the facilities and service here are great. The rooms were beautiful and incredibly clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Liuba at reception deserves a special mention: she greeted me every morning with a warm smile and coffee, answered my questions and had nice chats with me about Paris. No doubt I'll choose this hotel again the next time I'm in Paris.

During the final two days, we started seeing insects on the bed. I don't know what they were or where they came from, but it spoiled the stay. We found the room small, with its window facing the road, so traffic made it noisy at night. The bathroom had no ventilation, slippers weren't provided, and for two people there were two towels plus two tiny ones, about 20 by 20 cm. We arrived late in the evening and had to leave a 100 euro deposit, refunded after checkout if everything was in order. There's also a city tax for each day. The hotel is in Fontenay-sous-Bois, in the Paris suburbs, and public transport usually takes about an hour to reach the city center. It's relatively affordable for Paris, but quite far from the center.
