Ferme Du Mouchel

It felt like home, and we still remember the place fondly. We found it by searching Booking.com for B&Bs in the area without knowing anything about it, and it turned out to be a great choice. The family-run property is in excellent condition, set among greenery with cows and sheep grazing nearby. The owner welcomed us warmly and was attentive and helpful, with brochures, leaflets, and tourist guides ready for us. Our room was cozy, carefully kept, and spotless; the bathroom was just as clean, and even the towels smelled of fabric softener. Each morning brought a fresh, delicious breakfast with artisanal or homemade things like crêpes, cakes, jams, and brioches. It’s only a couple of minutes by car from Omaha Beach, and worked really well as a central base for the D-Day landing beaches and nearby towns like Bayeux, Barfleur, Caen, and Honfleur. We were very satisfied and would highly recommend it.

We really enjoyed our stay at this Norman farmhouse. It’s close to lots of sites and museums, and the owner gave us a cheerful, attentive welcome. A wonderful visit.

The homemade breakfast products were good, and the room and bathroom were clean with nice decor, though both felt small. The farmhouse has plenty of charm, but you notice the smells from the neighboring barn as soon as you step out of the car. The hostess is quite direct and doesn’t want to be bothered much. There’s a two-night minimum, the room isn’t cleaned between nights, and the tourist information amounts to brochures, without extra local tips.

The hostess made us feel very welcome and was friendly and attentive. Breakfast was plentiful and excellent. The house sits peacefully in the Normandy countryside, very close to Omaha Beach, one of the D-Day landing beaches. I’d happily recommend this bed and breakfast.
