Bello Visto

The town is great, though having a rental car is probably best instead of relying on Ubers. My boyfriend and I had an amazing time. Emma, Laurent, and the rest of the team were awesome, and the food was fantastic. We’ll definitely come back.

The meal itself was mixed: my veal rump was cooked adequately, but my wife’s duck was tough and very chewy. Bread was dumped on the table, and it was ordinary at best. There was no oil or butter, and the butter we asked for took about 20 minutes to arrive. The wine waiter only came to ask what we wanted after our food had been served, so we declined wine. When we requested the bill, it was dropped on the table without a word or any question about how the meal had been. We’d eaten here several times over the last seven years, but we won’t return. The menu prices have risen a lot, and the wine was outrageously priced compared with anywhere we’d eaten in the St Tropez area over the previous two weeks. It’s a beautiful location, but the restaurant seems to be resting on that. Other nearby restaurants looked packed with people enjoying their meals, so I’d give this one a wide berth.

The staff were super friendly, and the food was excellent, with every dish full of flavor and nicely presented. The atmosphere was lovely, and the service was spot on. I’d happily return to try more from the menu. A fantastic meal in a welcoming place, highly recommend.

This is just about the restaurant. Bello Visto is easily the fanciest and most beautiful place on the restaurant street in the lovely little town of Gassin, which caters to tourists. We came for breakfast several times. It could be hard to find someone to seat us, though the service was friendly once we did. The pastries were a little disappointing.
