I paid 900e for a week, but getting help from reception was a struggle. The self check-in machine gave me trouble too, though luckily someone was there to help because it happened during the day on a weekday. I’d seen Booking.com reviews from people who got stuck in the lobby when the machine failed and reception was closed, sometimes having to sleep in the corridor or cancel their plans. Reception is supposed to be open on Saturdays, but that wasn’t always the case while I was there. The intercom kept ringing at night. I reported it several times and was told on my second day that a handyman would come, but nobody did. After it woke me at 2am, I sent an email and text on my third day. Neither got read until I left a bad Google Maps review. Someone from reception then came to my room and tried to fix it, though I’d already explained that the silent setting didn’t last. He wasn’t a handyman and didn’t have the tools to disable it, so it rang again at midnight. On Sunday, my fourth day, nobody was there. I sent more texts on Monday, but they weren’t checked until I went down to the lobby and complained. Only then did they look at my phone. It took until my sixth day for a handyman to come and switch the intercom off. I was also promised a financial gesture, and I’m still waiting. The confusion and lack of communication were on your side. You didn’t seem to know what was happening at your own place, and you told me I’d get compensation that never arrived.

I’ve been living here for two years and am very happy with the residence and its staff. Everything feels quite new, from the rooms to the shared spaces. The team is attentive, and Nicolás deserves a special mention. He’s always ready to help, even outside working hours, and keeps doing his best for both the residents and the residence.

Getting around Paris took some figuring out. We got a taxi from Paris Gare Nord to Hife Gentilly because, without knowing the place names, the public transport options were confusing. Google also suggested similar Raspail Ave or Raspail Blv addresses, which sent us off track. After railway ticket sellers printed us a map, we learned to use the RER and metro. It took three train changes to get back after a day walking around Paris. The metro is busy, but trains come often, so it’s efficient and good value. More details about routes to Paris highlights, nearby stations and bus stops, plus a local map, would help. The accommodation itself was impressive. The room was spacious and clean, with lovely linen, extra pillows, a good private bathroom, a kettle, and coffee-making gear with a few supplies. The decor, lighting, and window shutters were well thought out. Three lifts made access easy, and the card key added security. The co-living spaces were a nice extra without feeling crowded or imposing. Breakfast was very good, and there’s a supermarket nearby.

The bus stop just around the corner made getting to the lines for central Paris easy, and I could reach all the attractions comfortably. The location is fairly close to the sights. Everyone was soo friendly, and there’s a light breakfast in the kitchen each morning. My room was large and clean, with a really comfortable bed. Checking out was easy too. I could do it online, choose a time slot, or just drop off the key on my way out. Had a really amazing time here, can’t recommend it enough!

It’s quiet, in a safe district, and handy if you want to enjoy Paris but still have somewhere peaceful to come back to. Depending on the room type, you can make tea or coffee, or even cook some food. The metro stops for lines 14 and 7 are both a 15-minute walk away. Gentily train station, the RER B stop from the airport, is 19-20 minutes on foot.
