Le Chalet de Juliette

The location was perfect, especially as we know the area very well. We stayed at Chalet de Juliette from November 12th to 19th, 2024, but the problems inside left us certain we won't return. The accommodation was freezing when we arrived and took more than two hours to reach a comfortable 18 degrees Celsius. The person who welcomed us wasn't the manager and said they had asked her whether the heating should be switched on before we arrived. She had said no. Cleaning was clearly poor: there was grease dripping from the extractor hood, fingernails in the sofa, dead leaves under the cowhide rug, hair in a salad bowl, and soap scum on the bathroom drawer and shower floor grout. We were left with only two sheets of toilet paper on the one remaining roll. A strong sewer smell lasted through the stay, so we bought air freshener. People there at checkout said this was a known problem. We'd ordered a crate of firewood for 50 euros, containing 8 logs. We didn't use it, but it wasn't refunded despite our requests and complaints about the accommodation. There was also insufficient lighting in the bedroom, a mattress that must be old, sleeping bags under the bed, and a clothesline in a locked storage room, leaving us no way to dry laundry inside. Only one lounge chair was provided on the terrace.

We stayed in a charming chalet with a wood-burning fireplace and a terrace overlooking the lake. It's close enough to the town center to walk there in 15 minutes, so there's no need for a car. I recommend it.

The owner gave us a warm welcome, and the chalet was very comfortable and tastefully decorated. A peaceful spot, just right for a relaxing holiday.

The chalet is superb and has all the modern comforts. The only thing I missed was a large parasol for the terrace.
