Gigondas is a lovely village, and the location is great. The room was cosy and warm, with a simple layout. Just be aware of the stairs, though they weren’t a problem for us. The woman who handled the booking was super helpful and very apologetic about the mistake she made. We’d had trouble booking online, so I called to get a room for the following night. The service at the bistro was a different story. After driving for ten hours, we didn’t want to head to another village just to get food or wine. Around 7 pm, we asked the first staff member if they could spare a table for a quick bite, since we’d tried to book the night before. They said no. We asked about takeaway, also no. Then we tried to buy a bottle from their cellar, whose door was open for the two restaurants to pick up orders, and were refused again. We were told to go to Seguret or another village. My husband and I visit this area every year and know those places, but we really didn’t want to drive anywhere after such a long trip. Gigondas is small, and most shops close after 7 pm. The room was lovely, but customer service has a long way to go. Unless you know the area or are sure you’ll arrive before 7, go to Seguret or Vaison-la-Romaine, or bring your own wine and dinner.

The breakfast was generous and impeccable, especially the croissants and pain au chocolat, which I won’t forget. Our Junior Suite was spacious and inviting, with a lovely view of the historic center. There are only a handful of beautiful rooms in this charming village. We had a few minor communication issues, but all the staff were extremely kind.

We found the absolute quiet we were after, escaping Marseille for an off-season break in the countryside. L'Hôtel L'Oustalet, right in the heart of Gigondas, was exactly what we wanted, with a warm welcome and a lovely, comfortable room. It had everything: excellent pod coffee maker, kettle, bar, toiletries, bathrobes, slippers, TV, and, of course, superb bedding. Breakfast was delicious, served with a smile and attentive care. Everything was perfect. If you need to recharge, I’d go without hesitation.

The bedding was really high quality, and we especially liked the large bathroom and walk-in shower. We had a great two-night stay at L'Oustalet.

The room was spacious and very pleasant, right in the heart of Gigondas, next to the Bistro, which made it a perfect little getaway. We spent a few peaceful, luxurious days here. Breakfast was excellent, and the COVID-19 guidelines were followed throughout. Definitely recommended if you’re staying in the area.
