Kyriad Chantilly

The beds were comfy, but they’re very small. The rooms are tiny, with hardly any shower space, and there’s no WiFi. Everything feels completely outdated, from the carpets and rooms that look about 80 years old to the outside, which needs repainting.

There’s a great Chinese buffet across the road, which makes dinner easy, and when reception was open the staff were friendly. The hotel itself feels old and overdue for a full revamp. At 90€ with only a basic breakfast, it doesn’t feel like a budget stay anymore. The shower is tiny, even though there’s plenty of hot water. A noisy car wash sits on one side, and the walls are so thin you’ll need earplugs to sleep.

It’s cheap and cheerful, and the bed is comfortable. The shower’s good too, but the place could use an update. Staying here feels a bit like sleeping in a 1980's caravan!

The staff were friendly, and the little car park right outside has some shaded spaces, though you’ll want to arrive early to get one. It’s near a main road, restaurants, and a shopping center, so the location is handy. The destination itself was good, but the area around the hotel in chantilly looked scrappy and a little questionable. The rooms are small, the walls thin, and the beds hard. The bathroom fan was louder than you can shout. WiFi was poor, and I had to sign in with my email. I stayed last summer, and by March I was still getting emails I hadn’t agreed to, all in French that I couldn’t understand. Breakfast wasn’t included. I think it was another 9 euros, though it’s been a while since I went. The facilities were okay, and it was cheaper than most other hotels, but I didn’t think the value was great. I expected to enjoy it less than I did, so I suppose it was an okay place to spend the night.
