les roulottes du LOT

Coco is the real draw here: she’s wonderfully hospitable and a fantastic cook. She patiently helped us practice French, suggested places to shop and sightsee, and arranged a horse-drawn carriage ride through the countryside. We loved spending time at this quiet retreat with her, her dogs, and her sheep. The little roulotte sits in peaceful countryside beside the Chemin de Saint Jacques de Compostelle. It’s comfortable and very clean, with simple self-catering facilities and pleasant outdoor seating overlooking the Chemin and the small Saint-Chignes church. We aren’t used to sleeping in a small bed, but it was sufficient.

We had such a great girls’ weekend. The cottage was lovely and in a great spot, and the welcome couldn’t have been better. Thanks again, we hope to see you another time.

What a wonderful overnight stop in a gypsy caravan. Corinne and Jean-Jacques were incredibly kind and generous, from the warm welcome to the delicious meals and breakfasts they prepared with so much care. The caravan was beautiful and comfortable, and the surroundings were so peaceful and relaxing. Their lively dogs, Kavoc, Bernard, and Sushi, made it even more fun. We loved it!

The hosts were attentive and charming, and the natural setting on the way to Rocamadour was exceptional. A stay we’ll remember for a long time. We highly recommend it.
