The hotel is conveniently placed for Boulogne, Coquelles and Calais. We were pleasantly surprised by how much we liked it: the staff were welcoming, our room was comfortable, and the dining room served delicious food.

I liked the comfortable mattress and slept well, and the park around the castle was a peaceful setting. The castle itself feels special, and it’s handy for places like Touquet and Wimereux, though the village is quite remote. There are two slow EV charging spots. My room was in the castle, one of two buildings used for rooms, and at 140€ a night I didn’t think the stay was good value. The old room and its sanitary fixtures need updating. Sound carries everywhere: I could hear conversations at reception from the first floor, guests in their rooms, and restaurant noise late into the night, so there’s very little privacy. I also noticed areas that seemed never to have been cleaned, including dusty stairwell window sills with dead bugs. Breakfast was standard, but some basics were missing, like scrambled eggs.

Our room was in a modern annex, with a good bathroom, a comfortable bed and French windows that opened straight onto the grounds. Two 22kwh EV chargers were nearby, paid for by scanning a QR code. We travel with our little dog, and while only assistance dogs can stay in the Chateau itself, dogs are allowed in rooms or cottages in the annexes. The building and grounds are lovely, tucked just off the A16 in a quiet village, and the staff are charming and helpful. Breakfast is still a really good continental one. A recent fire has unfortunately closed the very good restaurant until repairs are done. They arranged dinner for us at a sister hotel, but that meal was disappointing. We’d still come back to this lovely place.

The meal was splendid, with fine wines at reasonable prices, and the service was kind in a relaxed atmosphere. The Chateau and Fermettes are beautiful, with a cosy lounge and a fine restaurant. It seemed to be saying "Come back again" everywhere. We will. Thank you!!

The room smelled musty, and only some of the wood framed windows opened. We got some fresh air in before bed, but the neighbouring TV was clearly audible through the walls. Since we were only there for one night, we didn't ask to move or complain, though we would have for a longer stay. We'd picked this place for a stop before crossing the channel after an 8 hour drive across France, mainly because it listed a sauna. The grand entrance and facade looked impressive, but the interior felt dated. On arrival we learned the sauna was still out of service, even though they'd emailed us about that almost 4 months earlier. We stayed in a large room in the stables across the courtyard. The quaint old fashioned hallway and room had flaking wallpaper, old carpets and needed fresh paint. The bathroom looked smart and new but was unfinished, with no shower curtain or screen, so water soaked the floor and wooden sink stand. The linen style roller blind also offered no privacy with the bathroom light on, especially in the early morning, since people outside could see through the screen. It needs a blackout blind. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but with the room price and the sauna still unavailable, we wished we'd stayed in a motel.
