Hotel Résidence Les Mèdes

I walked all over the island instead of hiring a bicycle, criss-crossing it so I wouldn't miss anything. The farther I went, the more peaceful beaches and lovely scenery I found. Villa Carmignac, with its gallery, villa, and gardens, is just a short walk away. The island is really special. The hotel has no pool, but the beaches are easy to get to, and the central location is wonderfully peaceful at night. It's well equipped, and the staff are knowledgeable, efficient, patient, and excellent. A very good hotel. I'll be back.

The terrace is lovely, and breakfast was good with a decent choice. The place is clean and nicely decorated. One downside is the noise from parties nearby each evening. They provide earplugs, but you can still hear it in the rooms.

There’s a lovely garden guests can use at any time, and the room has a kitchen and coffee machine with pods provided. The staff were very friendly, service was good, and breakfast included fresh fruit. We could hear both the ventilation or AC and the street outside the window, though earplugs were provided. The mask rule wasn’t taken seriously, but that wasn’t something unique to this hotel. All in all, we found it a good place to stay.

We used Résidence Medes as a family base for two adults and two kids, and it worked really well. Since you don't spend much time in your room on Porquerolles, it was a nice place to stay, and I'd come back. Our room slept five, though we had to make up the pull-out sofa every night. A bit of a hassle, but about what you'd expect. The beds and showers were great, the room was quiet, the AC helped us sleep on hot nights, and housekeeping and the friendly service were both great. Wi-Fi, though, was awful. Towels are available to rent, but you can't swap them for fresh ones, which is odd. There was a small kitchen where we easily made breakfast and packed beach lunches. We ate dinner out unless the kids wanted something simple. I looked at breakfast one day and it seemed fine, but I preferred running to the bakery for a treat and bread for the day. They also offer luggage storage and showers after checkout, which lets you squeeze in another beach day.
