Hôtel Luxor

After four years of staying here, we were shocked by how cold and inflexible the new management felt. In good-faith situations, they refused to show any understanding or flexibility and stuck rigidly to the fine print. There was no sign of appreciation for our long relationship, and loyal guests were treated like strangers. Even a simple coffee wasn’t offered at check-in. The warm service that used to make this hotel special no longer feels familiar. We found the treatment disrespectful and lacking any human consideration. If respectful service and human connection matter to you, stay somewhere else.

The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was small but well equipped, and I had a nice view, though apparently that isn’t guaranteed. There were only a few plugs scattered around the room, which was a downside. I was excited to see an AC unit, hoping for a night of freezing air, but pressing its remote turned on the TV. The AC was just for show. A fan in the room helped a little. My stay was pleasant, if short, and more than okay for the price, especially in Paris. The hotel sorted out a payment issue with Booking.com quickly when I called, and they were just as helpful when I phoned later to ask about check-in. Check-in itself was smooth. The elevator worked strangely, but it wasn’t a serious problem.

I’ve been trying to cancel my reservation for days, with several follow-ups, but the hotel still hasn’t completed it or given me a clear answer or solution. It’s been extremely frustrating and has completely damaged my trust. I’d expect better service from a professional establishment. I definitely won’t book here again.

We stayed four nights and would definitely come again. The rooms are small, a bit like a Japanese business hotel, but we were there to see the city, not stay in the room. The linen was clean and the bathroom small. You get what you pay for, and it was totally worth the money. The metro is about a five-minute walk away, with great restaurants all over and a supermarket nearby. The main downsides were street noise and the thin walls.
