Le Champlain - Les Collectionneurs

We'd definitely stay again. The hotel was beautifully decorated and very clean throughout, and the staff took great care of our small dog. The beds were comfortable, so after a long journey we had a great night's sleep. The bathroom was lovely, with good amenities, and we enjoyed the luxury rituals bath care. It's a short, pleasant walk into the town centre.

The staff were lovely, helpful and pleasant, and couldn't do enough for us. We had a really spacious deluxe double room with two dogs. The beds and pillows were comfortable, the room was well equipped, and the only thing missing was a small fridge. We had breakfast throughout our stay, and it was lovely and worth the money. There were eggs, bacon, sausages, crepes, pancakes with syrup, lots of yoghurts, fruit, croissants, pan au chocolat, cereals, juices, cheeses and cold meats. You could go up as many times as you liked. We chose the hotel because it was about a seven-minute walk from the port, close enough to reach easily but far enough from the noise. The food market was a few minutes away, along with some lovely, great-value restaurants. With two dogs, the location was brilliant for morning walks, as the park is just across the road, about a minute away. We'd highly recommend it for comfort, friendly service and a location that suited us.

It's a beautiful building with lovely staff, and I'd stay here again. The room was bright and airy, and the bed was comfortable. Just be aware that the facilities are limited: no minibar or dressing gowns, the towels were a bit threadbare, the shower is over the bath and there were no water glasses.

We had a wonderful room at this charming, romantic old hotel in the heart of LaRochelle. The staff were pleasant and efficient, and we'd definitely stay again.
