The bed was the best part of my stay at Novotel Nancy. The mattress and pillows were genuinely excellent, and the Classic Family room felt spacious and comfortable, with a big TV and a large sofa. For the price, it was worth it. But the room stayed too warm because the system seemed stuck in heating mode, even on the coldest setting. The window wouldn't open properly either, so I couldn't air it out and the stuffiness affected my sleep. Housekeeping also missed things: bathroom supplies weren't topped up, and I found the conditioner empty during a late-night shower. Cleaning didn't feel thorough, with dust in places and a T-shirt left behind the sofa. Temperature control and these housekeeping details need work before the stay feels seamless.

Breakfast was enjoyable, the staff were friendly, and we appreciated being able to bring our dogs into the restaurant. The hotel was an easy-to-reach rest stop on our long drive from the UK to Prague. At first the room wasn't very comfortable because it smelled of sewage when we opened the door. Once we'd opened the window and run water down the drain, the smell eased and we could rest properly.

The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. It gets pretty warm in there even in December. There's only one tiny glass bottle for fetching water downstairs, so please leave a few in each room.

The breakfast was really good, with lots of choices, and the staff were friendly and helpful. My only issue was that the room felt too hot, even with the thermostat set to its lowest temperature.

The restaurant was much better than we'd expected for a hotel in that price range. We had the veal with fries, then chocolate fondant for dessert. Our room was spacious and clean too.
