The only bright spot was the lovely, sweet woman I met at the desk. I was in Cannes for the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity, and the hotel had been booked for me and others in my group. Most of the stay was horrendous, and I’d never return. The manager also tried to gaslight us about the strange things that happened. All 14 rooms in our group were listed as having AC, but none had working AC. Used clothes showed up in rooms that didn’t belong to us, four times as far as I know, though not in my room. People also walked into rooms without any clear reason at odd hours. It happened five times. I was woken at 8:20 am by someone entering my room, and on three of the other occasions my friends were undressed. One room had already been cleaned, so it clearly wasn’t a cleaner coming in. At night, several of us found that our keycards didn’t work after midnight. Sometimes we could share a room, but other times people slept in the hallway. One day I left some things on my bed. Housekeeping remade it, but never changed the sheets, since I could see my hair on the pillow each day. My things were put behind the curtains, out of sight, and I thought they’d been stolen before I found them.

I slept so peacefully here, and the breakfast was fabulous. The location was handy for getting around on foot or by bus, especially to the Marché du Film. The welcome was extraordinary and the staff incredibly kind. I’ll be back next year. Francesca from Italy 😉

The woman at the front desk was kind, but everything else made this one of the worst stays I’ve had. My company booked me here for Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity. I’ve travelled around the world in hostels as a broke 20-year-old, and this was still worse. There was no working AC in the hotel, even though it was listed as an amenity. I was there with 14 colleagues, and none of us had it. When I checked in, there were dirty leggings in my bathroom. I put them in the hall, then they turned up in two other rooms on our floor. About five days into the stay, I found dirty underwear that wasn’t mine on my bathroom floor. After a busy day, my colleague and I went back to rest before heading out again. Our rooms had already been cleaned, and while we were asleep, a male employee walked into her room without knocking. It was startling and inappropriate, especially as we were two young women travelling alone. The front desk said it couldn’t have happened because men had no access to our rooms. We later learned it had happened to five other colleagues during the week, several of them undressed. We didn’t feel safe with the doors either. The inside handle lock didn’t stop someone opening the door from outside with a keycard. We complained, and they installed a chain lock, though we shouldn’t have had to ask for one. We also learned two male employees lived in the breakfast room. That didn’t directly affect us, but made us uncomfortable given that men had entered several rooms without knocking. We thought one of the two men staying there might have been responsible. Several colleagues’ cards were demagnetized. That can happen, but there’s no 24-hour reception, so they had to stay in other people’s rooms until morning to get back into theirs. On one of our first nights, we saw a man sleeping in the hallway. There’s no lobby, and it made sense that he might have been locked out by a faulty card. The Wi-Fi barely worked, so be warned if you need to work from the hotel. The manager also tried to gaslight us multiple times about what had happened. I’ve never had such a strange hotel stay and won’t be coming back. I strongly suggest finding somewhere else.

Anna at reception was so warm and friendly, always smiling and attentive, and her welcome was beyond what I’d expect even at a 5-star hotel. The young gentleman who checked me in also took time to show me different rooms so I could choose. We made some amazing memories here.
