The stay was fantastic, but I had a privacy concern when checking in after hours. The machine by the door showed my room number and PIN on screen where everyone could see them. There should be something like a shield to give guests more privacy. I worried that people standing nearby had noted my PIN.

It’s certainly a bargain compared with the other options available. If Chartres had a hostel, I would have stayed there. There’s a sink in the room, but the shared toilets and showers are separate single units, and neither has a sink, which isn’t very convenient. WiFi seems not to exist, though you can connect freely to the neighboring hotel. The rooms have small windows and no air conditioning, but there is a TV. It’s 3.5km from the city centre, with a bus available, or you can walk.

I booked this cheap one-night stop for a trip to the South of France with my husband and our four children, and honestly I was dreading it. I imagined it would be dirty and unsafe. Instead, I was surprised to find it clean, comfortable, quiet, and friendly. Just right for our one night.

Everything else was good, and it was all clean and well equipped. The sink beside the bathroom wasn’t working: no water came from the taps, and it leaked onto the floor. Thank you 😊

The receptionist was so friendly and helpful when we arrived and again at checkout, and made us feel very welcome. The hotel is conveniently located, and our room was really clean, tidy, and smelled nice.
