Mobil home XXL - Camping Les Viviers

Our holiday home was great, with fantastic views and a central location. We booked the cabin through AirBnB, so the reception staff were a bit vague and not very helpful. The “fun pass” feels expensive for what you get. WiFi costs extra and is pricey and patchy. My iPhone wouldn’t connect, though the iPads did.

The pools were warm, with plenty of sunbeds, and we had fun at mini golf and table tennis, which we hired from reception. The local beaches are stunning, and we liked the evening entertainment, pinball, and reasonable drink prices. I also went to the morning classes at the stage, from LBT to HIIT and combat. The staff and animation team were brilliant. The site is huge, probably a mile long, so paying extra to stay near the amenities worked well for us. Sadly, our departure at 6.20 was a shock. We couldn't find anyone at security to ask where to leave the keys, so I went to the supermarket. An older man who worked there, the baker or shop worker, came out shouting and swearing in French and English, waving his arms and saying it was a supermarket. I left feeling shaken. Everyone else was wonderful, but that man's behavior spoiled what had been a lovely stay.

The accommodation was a very good standard, and the staff were great. There was plenty for the kids to do, with food and drinks at fairly reasonable prices on site. We found it one of the better places we've stayed. Just be aware that French school holidays get VERY busy, and parts like the main swimming pool can be crowded.

The pool and beach are nice, but this site felt set up for mobile homes, with worn and broken facilities for campers. There's nowhere to wash dishes, and water points are very scarce. We found one by the luxury waterside pitches, about a five-minute walk away, and it took around two minutes to fill a one-litre bottle. There aren't toilet seats either, so if you're traveling with small kids, be prepared for that. For a tent or camper van, the basics just aren't there. Trying to wash a greasy pan in a toilet bowl while working with a push tap that runs for three microseconds is not for me.
