BRIT HOTEL PRIVILEGE LISIEUX – La Villa des Arts

We only came for dinner and had a lovely meal. The duck breast, pork tenderloin, and grilled beef flank steak were all delicious, though the duck was the standout. Service was friendly too.

Since Brit Hotel took over the restaurant, we've had lunch there several times and enjoyed it each time. We live around the corner, so we haven't stayed at the hotel. The place looks much better now, with tablecloths and proper napkins, and the staff are very congenial. The food is good and the prices are mid-range. It's right in downtown Lisieux, and I'd highly recommend it.

The staff made us feel welcome. The room was fine, with everything we needed, a comfortable bed, and a nice view. It's also well located and easy to find.

I was in Lisieux, as the photo shows, and made the mistake of eating at this restaurant over the weekend. It was one of the few places nearby that was open. The food was cold and tasteless, service dragged along very slowly, and the prices were sky high, comparable to superb restaurants in Paris. Given how famous French cuisine is, the quality and service were absolutely unacceptable. I don't know what the staff are struggling with, but the meal was bad and the waiters moved at a snail's pace. One star, though I'd gladly give minus two if that were possible.
